Underground exploring (urbex)

THE SPIDER DRAIN

EXPLORING THE UNDERGROUND

drainage systems are a great place to explore also dangerous so if you decide to enter do so with caution.I usually take two flash lights to new drains or my trusty maglight with extra fresh batteries.Boots to keep your feet dry depending on water levels and a tripod and the camera is all I need. Also water to drink is a must!!!

shot these with my nikon d5100 and rokinon 8mm fisheye lens on tripod with a set timer of 5sec to get in front and camera ,setting at 100 iso f8 and 10-15 sec exposure times while shining my light about.

there is light in dark places, tho you need to search for them

After a few years of exploring this drain and using it for photoshoots its become a favorite of mine, also when I first explored it some years ago there was many big and I mean big spiders at the front of the entrance with some crazy colors on them.At the end of the tunnel there is spider webs all over the walls hence why I dubbed it the spider drain.

heres two vids I shot of the spider drain subscribe to my you tube channel for more explores.

draining california

Another throw back to my draining days in late 2011/12 at the portal/tree drain

2011 draining california

tbt to 2011 when I was very into draining only because I had no way to get to the bigger places an abandoned places I wanted to see.It was my bike and me and my nikon l110 and my Docs this one was fun has it looked as tho no one has been in this one in years

After hoping a fence and jumping down into a mound of sand I walked through thigh high nasty water, has the water got lower I hit the opening of the drain and went in has it opened up to two different sections, and some graffiti that sad jeff was here 1971.

the bugs in this drain were hoping off the walls to greet me and the mosquitoes were so everywhere I had covered my mouth with a bandanna I had and some protective glasses I had it was the dirtiest drain ive ever been in.I went in a ways spun some still wool and it would pop like a fire cracker has I went in further i noticed it was getting abit hazy a white haze and thats not a good sign had a bit of shortness of breath and new it was time to leave. Thanks to all my research of the "CAVE CLAN" I new to depart .

Draining california

#tbt Took these a few years ago maybe a good 4years ago with my Nikon L110 with a tripod goes to show point and shoots can take some awesome shots.

I remember taking these hoping that i wouldnt slip in the muck has I didnt have a car back then and rode the bus to this tunnel.

Going back home I thought man i must smell like dirty water I no my shoes smelt and wear soaked but was happy all the same.
