Downtown Riverside

Was waiting for a client to show up,so parked in the parking structure across from the tavern and museum and noticed the vines.

I headed upto the top of the parking structure stood atop the highest point and grabbed this shot of downtown.

Back to the car and attached my 50mm and grabbed a few of the museum in the background

the brightness of the outside and the contrast on the inside was abit tricky in getting the color in the leaves but got it after a few shots

Downtown Riverside is a special place, plenty to shoot lots of history and architecture much like anywhere,if you look youll find plenty to shoot.

Just an old Oak memorial

I had some free time before a party I was to photograph so stopped off at a geocache near by and was surprised to see a memorial in its place to boot. Here's a few images I took on this cold rainy day,if your in the area stop on by on Highland Springs Road also called the Patriot tree on google maps (N Highland Springs Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223)

(the poem on the tree reads)

“I grew up here all alone; you know, so spindly, small and frail,
‘Twas nicer here way back then, a horse and buggy trail
By the side of this country lane, I stood only four foot high,
I hardly got a sideways glance from folks a passing by
I am an oak, a scraggly oak, not mighty and not tall,
I’m approaching 80 years; I’ll be 80 in the fall...
‘Twas first a flag, then two more, I did not understand
And then I heard the prayers of those come praying hand in hand,
Each flag is for a mother’s son who went to meet the call,
I’ve seen the tears and heard the prayers for those who gave their all,
And so my job, both night and day, protect these many flags
Shads those who come to mourn their loss and do the best I can
I’m proud to be out here, there are no other trees to guard the many flags that,
Stand and flutter in the breeze.”

Science fair and photography Museum

Went to the science fair downtown Riverside to see what it was like,it was abit muggy and was more aimed towards the little ones tho my daughter would of said the same thing i was saying BORING so me and my wife ended up going into the photography museum for the 1st time,Funny ive tried to go a few times before and it was always closed.Happy to have finally went in and got to see some Ansel Adams images, one from manzanar camp which many do not now he photographer unless youve been to Manzanar, seeing his work and that image really made my night. Why find the label Terminal island and the memorial of terminal island post the many people of that island where sent to Manzanar funny how all this things sort of feel into my way.It is very interesting has I was only at terminal island to photograph abandoned places but found the memorial and which led me to manzanar.

Ok so now im rambling on heres a few shots from the night

In the Garden of Angels

Todays I headed to Beaumont California to photograph a party finished early and head towards home traffic was abit of a mess has the rain brought out the ignorant drivers. So I pulled off and drove to Desert Lawn memorial cemetery has its been on my list to see the Garden of Angels. There was a real sadness to the place but only a sadness to those lost and abandoned children whom this was made for.The rest was a feeling of what a beautiful place and what a wondeful way to give life back to those that have been abandoned. While I was there about 4 others cars pulled in to see the garden which is very small, tho the cemetery itself is quite big and with many old markers and points of interest.I took many images and will be posting another post on the garden and the surroundings in a future post.Cheers folks

A Milestone View (cache)

So after doing a few things today I headed over to the industrial area here in Riverside off aqua mansa rd to find a geocache, the cords given were abit off prob due to someone moving it over some. The cache was in this brown tin with a few coins and treasures I signed the log and went on home.

Right behind the cache was a motor bike park of sorts with riders doing some pretty cool jumps

A milestone view is the name of the park

Heading home Ive been wanting to get this shot of this church for awhile so it was a pus for me

Underground exploring (urbex)

THE SPIDER DRAIN

EXPLORING THE UNDERGROUND

drainage systems are a great place to explore also dangerous so if you decide to enter do so with caution.I usually take two flash lights to new drains or my trusty maglight with extra fresh batteries.Boots to keep your feet dry depending on water levels and a tripod and the camera is all I need. Also water to drink is a must!!!

shot these with my nikon d5100 and rokinon 8mm fisheye lens on tripod with a set timer of 5sec to get in front and camera ,setting at 100 iso f8 and 10-15 sec exposure times while shining my light about.

there is light in dark places, tho you need to search for them

looking up crate street side

rabbit hole

After a few years of exploring this drain and using it for photoshoots its become a favorite of mine, also when I first explored it some years ago there was many big and I mean big spiders at the front of the entrance with some crazy colors on them.At the end of the tunnel there is spider webs all over the walls hence why I dubbed it the spider drain.

heres two vids I shot of the spider drain subscribe to my you tube channel for more explores.
